Public artwork of Kyushu Shinkansen Shin Tosu station.

Shin-Tosu station building is designed based on bird’s wing, which comes from the magpie (the city bird), with its colors (white, black, blue) for main color scheme.
The artwork is installed in the center of concourse as a glass partition.
Magpie is selected for the motif of its graphic to unify the theme with building design, to express the regional characteristics actively.
Concerning for privacy, translucent film is used to print out the artwork, as there is a restroom behind the partition.
The graphic is originally drawn by Tomoya Tsukamoto. As it succeeded to keep the atmosphere of original water-colored drawing, it gives a fresh impression to the space.
